HUMANITAS MAXIMUS ARTICLES

You should read the fine print which follows first...

*Note to my Readers About Viewing Posts: This blog is formatted in such a manner as to cut off certain of the larger graphics that appear in the postings -- especially when those postings have been excerpted from wider-screen or higher-resolution media. Please be patient with me while I work within Google's somewhat stifling Blogger framework. If some graphics are cut off, you might just left-click on them to see if you can get an original source screen with the full graphic shown -- regrettably, this only works some of the time. In the event that any of the wording is cut off, you might change your screen magnification down from 100% to 75%. But don't worry -- the copy very seldom gets cut off. In some cases, if the article has been re-posted from another source (and you sadly can almost never tell you might try clicking on the article title, to get redirected to the original source posting, which will generally be full-sized and easy to read. No matter what...Please don't run out to the local drugstore in the rain and buy some of those overpriced non-prescription "reading glasses" that will make you look like either 1) a Senator in a subcommittee proceeding, or like 2) a substitute teacher from the early 1060's.

And now, intrepid explorers...TO INFINITY! AND BEYOND!

THE KEY TO ALL HUMAN SEXUALITY - REVEALED!!!

Dear Friends:

I will admit it -- that is the most pretentious, unimaginative, trite and unsophisticated drivel ever to pass as a title for a blog post. Utterly shameless (by the way, have you noticed that many people use the terms "shameful" and "shameless" interchangeably?). Had I really wanted to guild the lily (or perfume the pig), I could have added, "As Seen On OPRAH!!!" But that would have been overkill.

Click on the links below to find some terrific new posts...you will find yourself critically re-examining some of the human behaviors and social rituals that you have always taken for granted. There can be a great deal of significance in even the smallest gestures.

Go ahead. Dare to wrinkle your brain with the insight you'll gain. Expand your mental capacity to 11% (OR MORE!) if you are currently stuck at the typical 10%. Right this way...

UPDATES! TAKING COMMAND! -- SENDING SIGNALS!

Dear Friends:

Two sites have been updated with new posts and new insights. The links follow for your convenience:

http://TakingCommand.blogspot.com

http://SendingSignals.blogspot.com

Two related sites worth taking a quick look at (simply as a curiousity) are www.esmhome.org and www.energeticforum.com. They contain a wealth of esoteric information. Having said that, I do not necessarily endorse or agree with any ideas or products promoted by the owners of the sites (some of the stuff is very far off of the main highway), but I do believe that there are some ideas worth examining. I found the sites to be thought-provoking, and I hope you enjoy them.

CRITICAL UPDATES! [IMMEDIATE]

Dear Friends:

There are interesting, informative and entertaining updates available on the following blogsites, so be certain to visit each one of them:

http://SendingSignals.blogspot.com ***What is the nature of attraction? What is the nature of love? What is love, and what are its causes and motivations? Why do I enjoy using italics so much?

http://TakingCommand.blogspot.com ***A great little story, and a social experiment that you will be eager to try in order to tremendously increase you ability to control others...especially annoying and self-important types who believe themselves to be your superiors. Ha!

http://Psychological-self-mastery.blogspot.com ***Instinct and intuition: what they are, and how to develop them to your personal advantage. Some interesting new science, as well.

I am certain that you will find each of the above postings enjoyable. If you are in any way disappointed, I will personally see to a full refund of the amount of your admissions ticket. No other blogger offers that kind of guarantee! But wait -- there's more!

Since some of you gentle readers are battling with seasonal depression, I have provided the following sites in order to elevate your spirits:

www.tropicalglen.com -- This site allows you to enjoy the top one hundred popular musical (radio) songs for every single year from the 1950s through the 1980s. It is a tremendous free collection. It might be a good idea to make it one of your favorites, tune it in, minimize it on your computer screen, and let it play in the background while you do your work. If you are by yourself, you can sing along, or even dance around the room in your underwear, singing into your hairbrush like some kind of psychotic (be certain that your shades are drawn).

http://dingo.care2.com/cards/flash/5409/galaxy.swf -- This site is hysterically entertaining, and will help you understand the mysteries of the universe. Then, you can explain them to me.

http://vhost.oddcast.com/vhost_minisite/demos/tts/tts_example.html -- Suffering from low self-esteem? Perhaps you should be. Anyway, the character who appears on the screen (a nice-looking, American-type woman, probably drawn by a Japanese artist), can be scripted (YOU TYPE IN THE SCRIPT!) to say anything that you would like to hear said back to you. Need to bolster your self-confidence?...Tell this Stepford Lady Icon (with moving eyes and lips) exactly what you need to hear, and, through the miracle of synthetic speech, she will say it to you. Anything. Really.

As always, I thank you all for visiting, and remember to bookmark this blog, or make it one of your FAVORITES, or even instantly forward it via email to a friend by clicking on the little envelope icon immediately underneath this post.

Faithfully,

Douglas Castle

CONVENTIONAL WISDOM (?)

Dear Friends:

I have often thought the notion of "conventional wisdom" to be at least a misnomer if not a classically-constructed oxymoron. Wisdom is, by its rare nature, unconventional. The person with wisdom is the exception, not the convention. Depending upon the venue (and the tax-deductibility), it is often, in fact, wise to avoid a convention in its entirety, what with its crowd of obstreperous drunken persons stumbling all over eachother, and all too often festooned with silly-looking hats adorned with tassels or animal parts. But, I have digressed.

What follows, upon first reading (and you will read it several times, likely beginning with the first) gives the appearance of being a philosophical musing. It is not. It is a serious bit of knowledge to keep constantly in mind when dealing with other persons in any situation:

"The truth is is very rarely spoken by any person at any time; rather, the truth is ultimately made apparent by action over time. To learn the truth, it is often preferable to observe than to merely listen. Watch behavior rather than listen to rhetoric. Turn off the volume and watch the facial expressions and gesticulations during a re-telecasting of a political debate or speech to develop a sense of this. Also, consistent conduct over time should be seriously regarded in evaluating truthfulness.

"As any well-trained interrogator will attest, applying pain does not necessarily accelerate the disclosure of the truth...it more commonly coerces any conduct or words that will afford the subject a moment's respite from the torture. Prisoners often tell an interrogator what they believe that the interrogator wants or expects to hear, just to be delivered from a world of pain in that moment. False confessions are obtained by 'interrogators' every day in this manner."

Enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday, and check for posts on the second week of December.

As always, thank you for visiting.
