PERSPECTIVES



Dear Readers:

Perspective is a powerful force. It governs how we view things, and what actions we will take in response. If our perspective changes, our actions (or reactions, in many cases) will be changed, as well.

The narrower your perspective, the less that you are actually seeing. The broader your perspective, the better prepared you will be to accommodate or address any circumstances with the best possible course of action. Gathering other people's opinions about what they are observing is a potent shortcut to attaining a broader perspective.

In conducting relationships, both interpersonal and commercial, we need the broadest possible view in order to see all of the possible causes of what we are feeling or observing, and in order to see all of the possible choices for appropriate response.

Always be cognizant of the fact that what you think that you are observing may or may not be real -- it is governed by your perspective. Change your perspective, and your entire experience of reality may change, as well.

Most importantly, be aware that your perceptions are not reality, per se ... they are merely your interpretation of reality.

Partnerships and alliances give us an opportunity to see beyond the limitations of our own perceptual biases. Working with other people and asking the right questions is a way to transcend our perceptual limitations and make better decisions based upon a grander, multi-dimensional view.
